These posts might seem redundant but we need to spread the word!

.

This IRS phishing email is circulating, and it's crucial to be on guard against potential scams!

.

🔒 What is IRS Phishing?

IRS phishing is a type of cybercrime where scammers impersonate the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) through deceptive emails. These messages may claim to offer tax refunds, request personal information, or even threaten legal action. Falling victim to these scams can lead to identity theft and financial losses.

.

❗ How to Spot Phishing Emails:

1️⃣ Check the sender's email address carefully. Scammers often use domains that look similar to the IRS but contain misspellings or extra characters.

2️⃣ Be cautious with attachments and links. Avoid clicking on any suspicious links or downloading files from unknown sources.

3️⃣ Look out for poor grammar and spelling mistakes. Legitimate organizations, including the IRS, maintain a professional standard in their communications.

4️⃣ The IRS will never ask for sensitive information via email, such as your Social Security number or bank details. Do not share this information with anyone online.

.

🛡️ How to Protect Yourself:

1️⃣ Install reputable antivirus software and keep it up to date to help identify and block phishing attempts. https://www.ftscomputerrepair.com/security-package

2️⃣ Enable multi-factor authentication (MFA) for your email and financial accounts for an extra layer of security.

3️⃣ If you receive a suspicious email claiming to be from the IRS, do not respond or click any links. Instead, report it to the IRS at phishing@irs.gov.

4️⃣ Spread the word! This post won't be shareable since this is a private group, but invite your friends and family to the group! This is open to anyone no matter where you live. Let's raise awareness and protect them from falling victim to these scams.
